Principal's Message Term 4 Week 4 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
How quickly the term is rolling by.
During the month of November, we remember with love and gratitude all who have gone before us in faith. We think of parents, grandparents, friends, and mentors who shaped our lives and helped us to see God’s goodness. Their memory reminds us that faith is not just something we believe, it is something we live, share and hand on.
God’s will is often revealed in small, ordinary moments. It is found when we comfort someone who is grieving, when we offer a meal to someone in need, when we pray for those who have died, or when we simply take time to listen to a loved one. These small acts of love and care build the Kingdom of God in our midst.
As we pray for all souls during November, let us renew our own sense of purpose. Jesus came so that no one would be lost. That includes every one of us and all those we hold dear. Let us live with that same compassion and confidence. Let us be people who hold one another close, who lift up those who struggle, and who make sure no one feels forgotten or alone.
Action Response: This month, honour the memory of someone who has shaped your life by living out something they taught you. It might be an act of kindness, a moment of forgiveness, or a prayer of gratitude. Let your love for them become love in action for someone else. In this way, the promise of resurrection comes alive here and now through us.
Happenings Around The School
This week, the Year 4 students spent wonderful days at Lanyon exploring early Australian history; how lucky they were with the weather. Our Yearbook committee has been working very hard in the background, finalising the many pages that reflect our 2025 journey. I understand orders have closed. We are currently waiting for the delivery date for our mango orders. Families will be advised as soon as we know.
The teachers have been taking time to observe students as we start to consider our class groupings for 2026. Please remember this is a complex task that the teacher put a lot of time and consideration into. This coming Wednesday, we will welcome 100 excited preschoolers to participate in an afternoon of fun activities while their parents gather for an information session in the staffroom to learn about our school, the programs, and meet other families. It will be a busy afternoon now that KidsBiz is operating out of the school.
Staff Welcome
Next Monday, we welcome Lisa Slattery to our teaching team. Lisa will join our Diverse Learning Team as a Classroom Support Teacher to mentor teachers and support students by individualising learning plans and running intervention programs. Lisa has been working in a local government school for several years and is very keen to embrace our high impact teaching approach to teaching and learning.
House Winners Party
Today, 7 November, the students from Jackman House celebrated winning the house challenge in Term 3. The students walked to Franklin Park for a play and had fun in the sun. Thanks to Mr Craig Hart for coordinating this event.
Reader's Cup
'Twelve enthusiastic students from Years 5 and 6 recently took on the challenge of reading five books in six weeks, competing in teams of four against other schools. While we didn’t bring home a medal, it was a wonderful opportunity for our keen readers to explore new genres, work together, and share their love of reading. A huge thank you to the parents of our participants for encouraging and supporting them throughout this exciting challenge!' Thank you to MRs Fiona Matchett for arranging this exciting opportunity for our keen and motivated bookworms!

WHOLE SCHOOL FOCUS
The Whole school focus for this JUBILEE year is ‘PILGRIMS OF HOPE’
Pilgrimage as Transformation: Taking Risks and Living with Hope
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

IN NOVEMBER, WE REMEMBER…
In the Catholic Church, the month of November is a sacred time set aside to remember and pray for all who have died. It is a month filled with hope, love and remembrance, as we give thanks for the lives of those who have gone before us and entrust them to God’s eternal care.
During the month of November, MTS will have a Remembrance Wall. Staff and students are invited to draw or write the name of someone special that they would like to pray for and remember. Each name and drawing will help us show love and care for those who are in Heaven. Together, we will remember that the people we love are always with God and in our hearts.

Weekend Mass times
Saturday – 5:00pm.
Sunday – 8:00am, 9:30am and 5:00pm.
