WHOLE SCHOOL FOCUS
The Whole school focus theme for this year is ‘Walking Together’ and the Bible reference that supports our theme is Luke 24:13-35. The Emmaus Story. This year as we Journey Together, we realise we are not so different from the two disciples walking on the road to Emmaus. Jesus walks with us and among us every day, and yet, too often, we fail to recognize him. Let us learn from this story to find him in the Scriptures and recognize him each time we break bread in church, at home or at school.
WELCOME TERM FOUR

We do hope that all members of our school community have returned happy and excited as we resume for the final term of 2023.
“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:35
Companion God,
You call us to be people of journey.
You call us to enter the story of your people that stretches back through all of time.
Remind us that our journey of faith is walked in and with this community.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, who walks with us. Amen
Year A | Sunday 15 October | green “Whomsoever you find invite to the wedding.”
Something to Think About
God constantly invites us into a closer relationship. We need a patient, open, listening heart to know God better. Through prayer, we can listen to God's invitation to life and to love. In this story, the invitation was to come and be a part of a welcoming and celebrating community. Our families, schools and parishes are communities. Are they welcoming? What can you do in your communities to welcome others?
Is your community marked by the spirit of joy? What can you do to bring joy and laughter into your community?
The Story
In Jesus’ time, invitations to an important feast or party didn’t include a specific time - when all the preparations were complete, the servants would be sent out to tell the invited guests that they could come in. In this story, the people who were invited chose not to come, so people were welcomed in from the streets instead. The people who were invited to the wedding but refused to attend in today’s story, represent the religious leaders - they were invited to believe in the Messiah, but they refused. Those who accepted – the people who came from the street corners - represent people from all over the word who believed in Jesus.

Praying the Rosary
The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. The word rosary comes from Latin and means a garland of roses, the rose being one of the flowers used to symbolise the Virgin Mary.
If you were to ask what object is most emblematic of Catholics, people would probably say, "The rosary, of course." We’re familiar with the images: the silently moving lips of the old woman fingering her beads; the oversized rosary hanging from the waist of the wimpled nun; more recently, the merely decorative rosary hanging from the rear-view mirror.
We pray to Mary because she is the Mother of God and her prayers are very powerful (Jn.2: 1 -11). When we pray the Hail Mary, we combine worship of God and honor of Mary.
