This week we have worked hard on our school value to be calm and what it means when playing, working in class, and when things make us upset. To highlight the importance of being calm and safe we have elected to only issue one class award per class this week. This focus is part of our new Second Steps program being implemented across the school.

Calm and safe actions keep everyone's bodies from being hurt. When we act calmly and safely, we keep our hands to ourselves and do not use them to touch others in hurtful ways. When we use calm and safe words, we make sure nobody's feelings are hurt. Safe words are kind and respectful. This week the children have reflected on how they can act and speak calmly and safely.
