This term ‘The Mother Teresa School Way’ is to be:
Companions on the Journey: Caring, Supporting, and Growing Together.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Have you ever had people come to your house for a meal? How did your family look after the visitors and make them feel welcome? Did you give them something to eat and drink?
The Story
This story tells us something about God's kingdom and also about how we are to work together with Jesus and with one another to bring about the kingdom. Jesus tells us we can't expect him to do everything. When Jesus and his disciples are surrounded by thousands of people, the disciples just want to send the people away. They don’t really want to put in any effort. But Jesus tells the disciples: 'You give them something to eat'. Jesus is telling the disciples that they have a role to play in bringing about the kingdom.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWXkX9axcWsA note was sent home two weeks ago, asking you to indicate which information session you will be attending (1pm or 6pm), or if your child will not be receiving the Sacrament of (First) Holy Communion this year.
The note should have been returned on Friday 13 June. If you have misplaced the note and would like your child to participate int the Sacrament please email anne.leet@cg.catholic.edu.au to ensure you will be on the list to receive information.
The parent information sessions specifically for this year’s Sacrament of (First) Holy Communion will be in week 9 of this term. Please see the details below.
When: Tuesday 24 June
Time: 1:00pm and 6:00pm
Where: Holy Spirit Catholic church, Burdekin Avenue Amaroo
We are not able to repeat this session, so it is vital that at least one parent from each child’s family attends.
A parent information pack will be available for you, which contains a handbook for your reference, and a Sacrament enrolment form. Please do not miss this opportunity to obtain all the resources you will need to enrol your child in the Sacrament of (First) Communion this year.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
If your child is in Yr 5 or 6 and is receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion as a ‘catchup”, their preparation will be completed through the Parish Classes, not through the School.
Year 4 students will be prepared in class by their teachers and the Religious Education Coordinator.
First Holy Communion Enrolment masses will be held on the weekend of 28/29 June.
Peace and Best Wishes.
