Dear Parents and Carers,

This week at MTS we have been treated to a Book Week celebration like no other. With our fearless librarian Mrs Fiona leading the charge, the students and staff have been participating in daily book-related activities each morning, including celebrity book characters, pass the parcel, author visits and our masked reader extravaganza. 

Today was one of the highlights on our school calendar, with our world famous book parade in glorious Canberra weather. 

A huge thanks to the families who took the time to create amazing costumes to mark the event, instilling in our children a love of literature throughout the years.

Finally, congratulations to Mrs Matchett for creating such enjoyable memories for our students and families for years to come!

ACT Rostrum News

A huge congratulations to Siena Di Pietro from 6 Charcoal who is through to the ACT Rostrum Grand Final in September. Siena was one of 9 speakers last night at the semi-finals held at Miles Franklin Primary School. Siena delivered a wonderful speech on the topic of 'Through the telescope' and spoke with confidence and maturity. We wish Siena all the best in her preparations for the final.

Irwin Party Celebration

Next Tuesday August 26 the students from Irwin House are invited to wear free clothes and participate in a play at Franklin Park to celebrate winning the Term 2 prize. Parents will need to provide consent for this event, which was sent out earlier this week in order for their child or children to attend. Congratulations Irwin House!

Oztag Gala Day

Congratulations to the Year 3 and 4 boys who represented MTS at the Oztag Gala Day earlier this week. They had great success and represented our school with great distinction. Thanks to Mrs Kathleen McGuire and Miss Sophia Caputo and the many families who supported the boys on the day.
