Principal's Report Term 2 Week 10 - 2021

Term_3_Day_1.JPG

Dear parents,

One morning this week, one of our parents was hit by a reversing car in the front carpark. While there were no serious injuries, it is a reminder that we need to be extra vigilant around our parking areas.  It could have been much worse if it was a child.

The wet weather makes an already hectic situation even more frantic. As always, I ask parents to be patient and if you are finding the mornings a rush, try to leave a little earlier. I know that is easier said than done.

We welcome back Mrs Boyton and the start of term two and Mrs Williams at the start of week two.

I hope anyone that can get away has a nice break and hope you stay COVID safe.

Canteen

Next term our canteen will again commence operation, albeit on a small scale, with the aim to build to a five day a week service by term four. This will be dependent upon demand.

It will commence on Tuesday of week one and, for the first month, will operate on Tuesday and Wednesday only.  For the remainder of the term, it will operate Monday to Wednesday.

Subway orders will continue to be available on a Thursday and Friday.

Parents will need to register an account via https://www.flexischools.com.au/ to be able to order from the online menu.  Lunch orders will NOT be taken at school.

Please note that Subway orders will not change and still need to be ordered through school via the Subway envelope system.  The cost of the Subway lunch order is $7.00 and must be returned to the class teacher by Wednesday morning for both Thursday and Friday.

How to register and use Flexischools can be found via Help and Support | FAQs – Flexischools.

The cut-off time for online orders is 9.15AM on the day your are ordering for your child.

A sample menu is below. This menu and prices will be displayed on Flexischools website.

Lost Property

There is a large collection of lost property that has been collected from outside.  We have attempted to get any items with names back to their owners but, unfortunately, we still have some items that have not been picked up.   We have moved all lost property to the uniform shop (located in the hall) and it will be available on a Friday morning for parents to come in to have a look and see if you can find any of your missing belongings.

Crazy Hair Day

Thank you to everyone for your gold coin donations today for our Crazy Hair Day fundraiser, we raised over $800 and all proceeds will be used for our sensory walk.

Maths Problem

Thank you to all the students who participated in the high jump challenge. It was great to get so many photos. On the entry of Toby Silva he added the following:

My Grandma Margie's first cousin, Percy Hobson, won the gold medal in the Perth 1962 Commonwealth Games high jump with a leap of 2.11 metres.  He was 20 years of age. The difference in height between me and Percy's winning jump is 0.81 metres. Go Percy!

Fittingly, Toby’s name was drawn out from all the entrants and he won last week’s prize.

Have a wonderful school holidays and I look forward to welcoming back all students on Tuesday 13th July.

God Bless

Peter Hughes
